This Privacy Policy explains how PaveSense (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information depending on how you use PaveSense:

A. Information you provide

  • Contact details you submit via forms (for example, name, email, phone number).
  • Messages or enquiries you send to us.

B. Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps, referring URLs.
  • Log data: diagnostic and performance information to maintain the Service.

C. Road/Trip measurement data (if you use the PaveSense system)

  • Location data: GPS coordinates, timestamps, speed, accuracy (if enabled).
  • Sensor data: motion/vibration readings from phone sensors (e.g., accelerometer/gyroscope) used for roughness/quality analysis.
  • Trip metadata: trip identifiers, segment information, and computed road quality/roughness indicators (where applicable).

Note: If your deployment includes user accounts, you may also collect login identifiers and related account details. If not, remove that part above.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Generate maps, dashboards, and analytics related to road condition/roughness.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide support.
  • Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
  • Comply with legal obligations when required.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

  • With service providers who help us host, maintain, or analyze the Service (only as needed).
  • For legal reasons if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
  • Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with appropriate safeguards).

4. Location & Sensor Data

If you use features that capture road measurement data, the Service may process location and motion sensor data to determine road quality/roughness and visualize routes/segments.

  • You can disable location permissions in your device settings; however, some features may not work properly.
  • Sensor data is used to compute indicators and support analytics. We aim to collect only what is needed for the Service.

5. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you want a specific retention period (example: “Trips older than 12 months are archived/deleted”), add it here.

6. Security

7. Cookies & Analytics

We may use cookies or similar technologies to improve website functionality and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
